DVCon 2014 wrap-up

20140303_111811DVCon 2014 was a wrap. It was marked by record attendance and participation both by the DV Community and the exhibiting vendors. Enthused, the Accellera team is now forging new frontiers with the DVCon brand name into new territory - Europe, China, India, etc.

The real benefit of a conference such as this is its focus on Design Verification. I really like this focus. It brings to the same floor all the new developments that are happening in the industry.

I attended a great presentation out of Europe that talked about UVM implemented using SystemC. I think this will be great once it is released around September time frame.

Being an exhibitor, I was not able to attend too many presentations although I did go to poster session. I liked the fact that they had my last years picture attending the poster session :)

Also liked the fact that I took a picture of the winner of the poster session (Rich Edleman)  in action.

For Agnisys, it was a great showing. We were able to achieve our objectives at the show. Although our paper on the latest enhancements in IDesignSpec - Automatic Register Verification was rejected by the selection committee, we were able to wow our audience at our booth.

The booth crawl was useless for us as all our cookies and stuff crawled out of the booth within the first 5 minutes of them being on the floor.

What was really thrilling was the soft launch of our new product code named the "Mystic Tool". I think we heightened the interest of the DV community. They also gave us valuable feedback including a formal name for the tool. What was really gratifying was the fact that they said they really liked the concept and they will be willing to pay for it.

That's a good thing to hear for any product developer.

So we are back to our cubes and are working feverishly to launch the first version of this new product by DAC 2014 in San Francisco. See you then!
